We are seeking a full-time Firewall Engineer who will independently troubleshoot Enterprise Network issues to ensure continuity of service for our Defense Health Agency (DHA) customers.
Salary Range: $84,000 – $126,000, depending on experience
You Will:
- Triaging issues and resolving and/or escalating to the appropriate network teams for remediation.
- Engage with internal and external customers to provide status updates on network issues.
- Troubleshooting issues with a variety of different network devices and protocols.
- Working in a team setting and making recommendations related to troubleshooting, device configuration, and documentation.
- Document projects, support actions, and other administrative artifacts to serve as reference material for related support activities and management staff.
- Ensuring incidents and service requests adhere to established service level agreements.
- Evaluate circumstances, identify root causes, and develop a plan for resolution.
- Resolve issues in a timely manner dealing with a variety of different network devices and protocols following applicable reporting formats.
- Support shifts to cover a 24×7 operational environment when required.
You Have:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance.
- 6+ years relevant experience in supporting a large network infrastructure.
- An understanding of complex networks and be able to utilize the latest practices and principles to resolve issues.
- A strong working knowledge with Cisco Routers/Switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, and F5 Network devices.
- A solid understanding of TCP/IP regarding routing and subnetting.
- The ability to work in a dynamic, high paced, team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with the following Network protocols and services:
- Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP)
- Access Control Lists
- Layer 2 Switching
- Spanning Tree
- Packet Analysis
Required Certifications:
- A baseline Security Certification: (CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SCCP).
- Operating Environment Certification: Cisco (CCNA or CCNP) or Palo Alto certification.
