PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for leading end-to-end data lineage and data integration flow at Vitalant. Helps mature and enhance the current data governance architecture. Maintains both IT and data definitions across the enterprise, both with internal applications and external applications. Works with all levels across the organization to define, design, and implement data solutions that support the organization’s strategic and data goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management. Actively reviews existing processes for continued relevance and champions change for improved quality, service, efficiency, and business value. Where relevant, brings compliance issues to the attention of management.

Assures quality customer service to all customers.

Maintains good attendance and punctuality per the absence policy.

Creates the framework and basis for data collection, movement, and reporting that will be used throughout the organization to support organizational decision making and business needs.

Designs and maintains the appropriate metadata repositories to enable the organization to understand their data assets. Turns business problems into data design.

Provides expertise and recommends effective data solutions when assessing feasibility,
evaluating, selecting, and implementing new processes and technologies.
Continually assesses the viability of processes and systems for continued use.

Produces and maintains both high level and detailed data architecture diagrams to track the data movement across systems within the Vitalant ecosystems.

Identifies the appropriate level of documentation and ensure compliance with software development standards, policies and procedures, or best practices.

Produces detailed and accurate estimates for time required to review technical specifications, perform design reviews, code reviews, and unit testing for assigned projects and tasks.

Manages projects and requests as they come in.

Leads technical evaluations of third-party software and makes appropriate recommendations.

Recommend architectures to stay ahead of business reporting requests.

Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
Master’s degree in Information Systems or Engineering preferred.
Knowledge in key business application data flows with financial systems, business applications, external marketing vendors, etc. required.
Knowledge in Structured Query Language (SQL), Stored Procedures, and OLAP concepts required.
Knowledge in Unix/Linux concepts, Shell scripting required.
Knowledge in B2B system/applications, transaction flows, ANSI standards and EDI development required.
Knowledge of SDLC methodologies required.

Licenses/Certifications
Certification in Enterprise Data Management preferred.
Certification in Scrum/Agile preferred.
Certification in Analytics/Reporting Tools, ERP Cloud applications preferred.

Experience
Eight years of experience in multiple business applications implementations (e.g., SCM, Financials & HCM) including integration, data architecture, data reporting, B2B design and development required.
Experience with the full software development lifecycle required.
Experience writing high quality code using modern development practices required.
Experience with various application/platform technologies required.
Healthcare experience preferred.

Project Management skills a plus.

Proficient in Visio or like application.
