Title: Editor
Location: US National – Remote – Full-Time

The editor’s main responsibilities are to edit, assign, write, and produce key health and lifestyle articles and other content for its in-house magazine aimed at women in mid-life and in (peri)menopause. Assisting the Content Director, the editor will also write or repurpose for app, email, and other channels as necessary. The editor will handle all SEO optimization for content, keep the day-to-day editorial calendar, send content for copyediting and occasionally assist with product copy.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain relationships with writers and experts in all areas of women’s health and lifestyle
- Assign stories and projects to other writers and coordinate with outside agencies, when needed
- Keep finger on the pulse of news and peer-received studies from quality sources when it comes to every aspect of (peri) menopause
- Write, edit, and produce lively, well-sourced articles and content aimed at an underserved audience of women and people aged 35-60
- Own and maintain an editorial calendar and coordinate efforts across teams, including Marketing, Social Media, and email engagement
- Hold a journalism-class standard when it comes to sourcing, quality, and domain expertise
- Ability to assist in editing marketing and packaging materials when needed
- Have a working knowledge of SEO
- The ideal candidate will have expertise in women’s health and an interest for in beauty, skincare, wellness, and lifestyle. Stripes aims to speak to the nearly 1 billion people who will be in menopause by 2025 so a diverse Rolodex of experts and other contacts is a must-have
- Candidates must be passionate about women’s health and excited about creating fun, useful, and empathetic content aimed at a 35-60+ year-old audience
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience writing and editing about women’s health and lifestyle for top-tier outlets and/or brands
- Experience producing content on a CMS, preferably Shopify
