The Opportunity

Headquartered in Chicago with employees distributed across the country, we’re a fast-growing tech company that achieves our vision through our commitment to our Team, Customers, Product, and Continuous Improvement. As Buildout’s eCommerce Manager, you will help us scope, create and scale our first-ever ecommerce offering. You’ll be an integral part of the marketing team and work with sales, product management, and other teams to create, plan, execute, and analyze key ecommerce revenue campaigns, including new product introductions, promotions, cross-sell/upsell to existing customers, and more. Our ideal candidate can blend their strategic ecommerce domain knowledge with practical know-how, program management, and data analysis chops to take initiatives all the way — from strategy, to execution, through to optimization.

How You’ll Contribute at Buildout

  • Planning
    • Translate key aspects of our brand to an ecommerce experience, including authenticity, simplicity and a relentless focus on quality and value
    • Drive planning and production milestones within the wider product and solutions roadmap
    • Own a monthly ecommerce revenue goal; using initiative and innovation to reach or exceed that goal each month
    • Build ecommerce promotion plans and work breakdowns to drive execution and scope/requirements
    • Manage communications to all cross-functional partners about ecommerce initiatives to ensure they’re engaged and informed
    • Work with other demand managers to align on integrated planning as applicable
  • Execution
    • Manage timelines and creative delivery to ensure timely hand offs of assets from brand
    • Facilitate execution of ecommerce revenue and promotional plans with the web team and ecommerce technology partner
    • Run user acceptance testing on all ecommerce experiences tied to a given campaign/initiative
    • Own and manage Buildout’s relationships with our eCommerce technology partners
  • Supporting
    • Working collaboratively with the revenue operations and demand generation team, provide activation-specific reporting to understand ecommerce’s impact to the business; help ensure future learnings
    • Manage and deliver revenue reporting

What You’ll Bring to Buildout

  • 5+ years of experience in ecommerce marketing, merchandising, or program management role in-house, at digital agency, or with systems integrator
  • Experience running ecommerce at a provider of SaaS technology preferred
  • Experience managing complex projects/programs with integrity and follow-through across all stakeholders
  • Knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Omniture, or Tableau
  • Familiarity with A/B testing tools and optimization platforms
  • Strong technical aptitude and an insatiable appetite for learning
  • Strong analytical skills, and know how to discern insights and craft compelling narratives around data
  • Comfortable working with creative teams, talented at articulating business requirements into user experiences, and adept at providing objective feedback
  • Strong writer that knows their way around a program or creative brief
  • Ambitious, curious, a self-starter you love to test and innovate and appreciate the difference between perfect and really good
  • Comfortable working across multiple teams in a dynamic environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or related experience

We are based in Chicago, but this is a remote-friendly role open across most of the US. The salary range for this position is $100,000 – $115,000 based on experience.
