Our small team is growing and we are looking for an Elastic Cares Director to build upon and advance the global impact of our programmatic pillars: donation matching, volunteer time off & volunteer rewards, and non-profit product grants. Reporting to the Head of Elastic Cares and DEI, the Elastic Cares Director will work closely with them and other internal partners to further mature and deliver on Elastic’s goodness impact.

We want a seasoned social impact professional with expertise driving the design, development, and delivery of global initiatives and experience guiding a team to successful program execution. What You Will Be Doing

  • Initiate and set goals for the strategic expansion of cloud-for-good to for-profit customers, in alignment with Elastic’s Sustainability/ESG, HR and overall company vision
  • Operationally lead the execution of Elastic Cares in collaboration with key collaborators and peers from across the company (i.e., DEI, marketing/brand, sustainability/ESG, and others)
  • Help craft and deliver programs from end to end with goal of achieving the highest possible social impact value
  • Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and figure out need for improvements
  • Measure and report on the impact of initiatives, using data to continuously improve and evolve our programs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external collaborators, including nonprofit organizations, community groups, and other social impact partners
  • Stay well-informed on industry trends and best practices related to social impact, and provide recommendations on new opportunities and initiatives.
  • Manage budget to plan
  • Lead small team of direct reports and support their growth and development

What You Bring Along

  • 7-10 years experience undertaking a senior social impact, social action, or similarly focused position in a global organization
  • Strong knowledge of social impact trends, best practices, and regulations
  • Confirmed experience driving the design, development, and delivery of global social impact initiatives.
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to develop and motivate, and operationally guide a team of social action professionals to Lead the Way within this field
  • You are wired for collaboration and connection: You thrive in a matrixed organization because you know that together we can do better. You have outstanding interpersonal skills and strong team orientation and you’re obsessed with building and cultivating relationships
  • Ability to present (verbally and in writing) yourself as a positive brand ambassador for social impact who can successfully tell powerful stories that influence Elastician behavior and Elastic brand
  • Subject-matter-expertise, strategic guidance and thought-leadership in social impact; and the ability to measure, report and evaluate insights effectively
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced and sometimes unstructured environment
  • You are adaptable and humble, willing to tackle projects big and small
  • Strong project and budget management skills, attention to detail, and promised results
  • Ability to empower, influence, and optimize leadership, partners, and peer groups without direct authority.
  • A sense of humor and the ability to adapt to obstacles (be flexible) is a plus!

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component.

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.

An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic’s stock program. Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.

$160,300—$253,575 USD

The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is:

$192,300—$304,175 USD
