We’re looking for a Director, Product Experience Design to lead a strong collaborative, user-focused team in creating inspiring design experiences for Wattpad’s users. This role will help to realize and implement the design strategy and forward-looking experience for Wattpad’s Core Experience and Fan Ecosystem.
You are adept at enabling scalable, usable, and consistent design experiences that drive positive user and business impact. You make the connection in identifying user research needs to drive design decisions that increase user and business value. You are a cross-functional team builder where you work across team, function, and partner boundaries to achieve shared goals.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead product experience designers to develop their experience design leadership innovation and creativity within the company
- Enable the growth and development of Product Experience Designers to meet individual, team, and company goals
- Set the high-level design strategy across Wattpad’s Core Experience and Fan Ecosystem
- Identify strategic user experience needs and priorities that are aligned with our business strategy
- Align strategy and work across User Experience, Product Management, and Engineering disciplines to achieve shared company goals
What we’re looking for:
- 5-8 years of experience with end-to-end product design (discovery and delivery) and product experience design team management where you have delivered measurable results in creating more valuable user experiences and improved business outcomes
- Experience leading a team, setting and evaluating performance goals, and coaching or mentoring designers
- Have contributed as a strong design leader with Product Management and Engineering leaders in a cross-functional product environment
- Have experience in enabling the delivery of accessible, cross-platform (web, iOS, AN) experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related discipline
