About the Role
Director of Product Design at Tebra is a strategic leadership role helping to inform the future clinical workflow experience within our Care Delivery team. We are looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for developing and growing others, creating an environment for cultivating design excellence, and driving practices to support high-functioning cross-functional teams. Design leaders partner with product and engineering counterparts in developing insights-driven, customer backward solutions that support the day-to-day workflows of independent providers.
Your Area of Focus
- Director of Product Design for Care Delivery oversees the UX strategy and experience for the full Product suite that supports our clinical workflows. The role will have a significant role in developing our future clinical vision and transformation and includes some level of IC work to facilitate.
- Participates in the leadership activities of the larger Product Development team and contributes insights, suggestions, and a POV around strategic, cultural, and operational initiatives.
- Influences the activities, processes, and culture of the larger product design and research team and collaborates with other design leadership to ensure a holistic customer experience of the end-to-end software platform.
- Builds and maintains strong partner relationships with product and engineering peers and collaborates on strategy, roadmap planning, and driving strong cross-functional practices and alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Guides teams through project scoping including activities and timelines, and is accountable for the satisfactory delivery of commitments by their direct team.
- Is accountable for upholding quality within their org, and influencing quality across Engineering, Product, Product Design
- Responsible for building a holistic, integrated understanding of organizational context; acquiring understanding of LOB-level strategy; articulating a compelling vision.
- In addition to people management basics (1:1s; issue resolution; performance reviews), responsible for supporting goal-setting and professional development for up to 8-directs. Current team is made up of senior product IC designers but reports may be a mix of managers and ICs in the future; delegation of work for optimal leverage.
- Responsible for the recruitment and hiring of product design talent to meet organizational needs.
Your Professional Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional design and management experience of teams (5–10+ person mix of ICs and managers).
- Experience with identifying team needs in headcount planning and recruiting, interviewing, and identifying talent, and hiring for the org.
- Strong communication skills that include communicating design rationale, decision making, and compelling storytelling to drive alignment.
- Operates collaboratively and has been a strategic contributor/partner in high impact initiatives that include 0–1 or meaningful redesign of existing product footprint areas.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing operational practices for the motivation, efficiency, and professional development of their teams
- Proficiency with Figma and experience working with and driving iteration of a design system.
- Has a portfolio demonstrating ability to design and direct the execution of high quality, customer-focused, user experiences within complex, multi-role, workflows.
- Familiarity with and some previous experience with Lean UX practices and Agile development methodologies is preferred.
