Reporting to the Head of Design, you will serve as the most senior IC and team leader for a tight-knit, passionate, and entrepreneurial team that seeks to utilize some of the latest autosomal testing technology to re-imagine how our customers discover their family history.

What you’ll do

  • You will create exceptional human-centered experiences.
  • Guide the UX and visual design efforts from start to finish — from problem definition to design implementation.
  • Influence the evolution of existing UX/UI standards.
  • Partner with product managers on developing product strategy and definition.
  • Translate quantitative data and qualitative insights for new and existing product feature development.
  • Work cross-functionally, facilitating design discussions, and offer feedback into the planning and execution of product initiatives.
  • Oversee the all design deliverables (e.g. workflow diagrams, sitemaps, content inventories, user flows, wireframes, final design, and navigation systems).
  • Influence the evolution of existing UX/UI standards.
  • Participate in generative research and comprehensive user testing.
  • Attract, recruit, retain, and develop UX & Design talent.

Who you are

  • You have 8+ years of industry experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, or similar design-related role.
  • Committed to understanding and prioritizing the experiences and needs of underrepresented people.
  • You build natural relationships and partnerships with cross-functional partners that span content, research, product, and engineering.
  • A systems-level design thinker and excited to distill complex workflows into simple and elegant solutions.
  • Can transition easily between high-level strategic thinking and detailed execution.
  • You get stuff done.
  • Extra credit: Experience working in life sciences, genomics, and/or healthcare.
