Who You Are
Swoogo is actively seeking a Director of Platform Engineering with a deep understanding of AWS, infrastructure as code using Terraform, and the ins and outs of running a modern B2B SaaS platform for enterprise customers. You should be at the forefront of today’s SRE, DevOps, and Developer Experience practices. We need someone who not only champions best practices in these domains but is also a proven leader, capable of steering a team towards excellence in a dynamic, agile environment.
In this pivotal role, you’ll guide the team to ensure our cloud infrastructure is efficient, reliable, and scalable. Your expertise in DevOps and SRE will be vital as you cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, while ensuring our platform offers a seamless developer experience and meets the stringent requirements of our enterprise clientele.

About the Role
Working in a high growth start up, one thing we can count on is that every day will be a little bit different. For this role, there are things that even through change will remain consistent:
- Lead the orchestration and management of our AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring agility, reliability, and scalability.
- Direct the implementation of infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, promoting automation and consistency across our development and production environments.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify platform needs, translating these into technical strategies and actionable plans.
- Drive the evolution and enhancement of our SaaS platform, focusing on optimal performance, security, and developer experience.
- Champion best practices in SRE, DevOps, and Developer Experience, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Mentor the platform engineering team, nurturing their professional growth and upholding a high standard of technical prowess.
- Collaborate on software development projects, ensuring that infrastructure and application development are in harmony, leading to a stellar customer experience.
- Proactively identify potential infrastructure bottlenecks or vulnerabilities, leveraging your expertise to devise and implement solutions.

What You’ve Done Before
- Held a leadership role in platform engineering, with a focus on AWS, SRE, and DevOps practices, ideally for a B2B SaaS enterprise.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code, and fostering best practices in DevOps and SRE.
- Successfully directed teams through complex platform projects, from ideation to production deployment.
- Possess a deep understanding of the demands and intricacies of running enterprise-grade SaaS products.
- Proven mentorship abilities, helping grow talent and instilling a passion for technical excellence.
- At least 10 years of experience in platform engineering or a related field, with increasing levels of responsibility.
- A track record of collaboration, bringing together software engineering and platform engineering teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
