Job Summary
The Impact Reporting and Data team works to ensure the Patient Support Pillar is gathering and communicating data in a way that provides meaningful insight into progress against our mission to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families. The Director, insights and visualization will lead the development of dashboards, reports, infographics, and creative assets that communicate the work of the Patient Support Pillar to internal and external audiences. This position will work collaboratively with team members across the six verticals within the Patient Support Pillar to establish, collect, and report key performance indicators.

This position requires a high level of technical and graphic design skills, a willingness to learn, and a desire to tell a meaningful and compelling story around the Patient Support Pillar’s work.

Major Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and ongoing maintenance of dashboards and ad hoc reports for the PS pillar in Microsoft Power BI, utilizing a strong knowledge of ACS’ systems and data storage practices.
  • Manages data collection workflows to gather, validate, and secure approvals for key performance indicators.
  • Responsible for comprehensive internal documentation of key performance indicators, to include definitions, stewards, and technical specifications.
  • Develops infographics, data visualizations, and other creative assets in accordance with established brand guidelines.
  • Develops and manages pillar-wide communication strategy around the key performance indicators, including the development and ongoing support of the Pillar Metrics page on Society Source.
  • Provides pillar- and enterprise-wide consultation for special projects related to Microsoft Power BI and data visualization.
  • Supports regular and ad hoc Salesforce-based reporting for the Strategy and Operations and Impact Reporting and Data teams.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve workflows and team processes.
  • Performs other assignments and projects as needed.

Position Requirements
Formal Knowledge

  • Combinations of degree and experience will be considered in assessing successful candidates.
  • Advanced degree (master’s or doctorate) degree in data science, data management, analytics, information systems, business or nonprofit management, or related field.
  • Five years of professional experience working in Microsoft Power BI, Business Objects, or other reporting platforms. Experience with Salesforce and Snowflake preferred.
  • Experience supporting reporting and data visualization needs in a large, multi-siloed organization preferred.

Skills

  • Advanced skills in visualizing and presenting data for dissemination.
  • Experience developing, deploying, and troubleshooting reports in Microsoft Power BI.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across the organization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required, especially the ability to communicate diplomatically and persuasively on technical topics in a virtual environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Consistent ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The starting rate is $102,000 – $117,000. The final candidate’s relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
