Director, Commercialization and Planning

The Director of Commercialization and Planning is responsible for executing comprehensive go-to market plans aligned to business priorities and initiatives. The individual will partner with key functional areas, both within and outside of the commercial organization, and will require strong diplomatic skill — including knowing when to push back and when to dive in. S/he is a proactive problem solver, that uses customer insights and data to drive aligned strategies and plans.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Develop business cases and/or briefs for each initiative, gathering and analyzing information from various sources and partnering with finance and sales to develop forecast when needed
  • Drive aligned cross-functional plans grounded in the voice of the customer and supported with data
  • Confidently drive effective cross-functional collaboration with ability to problem solve and influence without authority
  • Lead the competitive insight mining process, facilitating the monthly cross-functional meeting, developing and managing action plans
  • Manage and update relevant projects in project management system Monday.com to accurately reflect program tactics, status and owners
  • Represent commercial in cross-functional program meetings, anticipating the needs of sales and customers and ensuring commercial requirements are well understood by cross functional partners
  • Translate commercial requirements into documented requirements for product & technology teams and/or lab operations solution development
  • Deep understanding of company business strategy and objectives, with ability to align projects and programs back to company goals

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 7-10 years of related, proven experience reflective of growing scope, responsibility and leadership in Project Management, Commercial and/or Operations roles
  • Knowledge of healthcare and genetic testing space a plus
  • Effective communicator and facilitator including written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by influence
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, optimism and a “can do” attitude
  • Detail oriented, analytical and data driven
  • Proficient in MS Office products, Confluence, monday.com or related project management software
