About the job:
The Digital Content Manager is an individual contributor on the Consumer Fundraising team who creates, builds and optimizes content on redcross.org (RCO) with a goal of maximizing user engagement to meet the organization’s fundraising and mission delivery objectives. The Digital Content Manager is hands-on in the CMS daily and collaborates with internal team and stakeholders across the organization for content creation. Experience as an Adobe AEM Author is preferred.
This position will be remote (work from home) with meetings during East Coast business hours.
What you will be doing:
- Ideates, writes and edits content for Red Cross website; authors content updates in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
- Consults with stakeholders in Consumer Fundraising, Development, Volunteer Services, Disaster Services and others as needed, to optimize content and campaigns on redcross.org.
- Partners with other digital engagement, SEO, development and IT teams within the Red Cross to identify and apply best practices, investigate and implement new technologies.
- Manages an AEM content author (contractor).
- Manages a user experience testing specialist (contractor).
- Makes use of outside partner resources when appropriate to extend the bandwidth and skill set of the team.
- Uses Adobe Analytics to investigate user behavior and provide insights to stakeholders.
- QAs work by self, contractors and outside partners to ensure that RCO content is accurate, appropriate, upholds brand standards, reflects the diverse communities we serve, and is easy to consume across all devices such as mobile and tablet.
- When required by organization priorities (such as natural disasters and fundraising campaigns), is available outside of normal business hours for AEM authoring tasks.

- Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.

What we need from you:
- 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7 years related experience with a minimum 5+ years experience with content management / digital marketing required.
- Knowledge of and experience with content creation, website taxonomies and the basic principles of web usability and search engine optimization.
- Hands-on experience using a CMS (Adobe Experience Manager).
- Hands-on experience using a site analytics tool (Adobe Analytics).
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and persuasively with stakeholders.
- Strong initiative and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on cross functional teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote work environment (self-starter, responsive, comfortable with remote meeting/collaboration tools such as Teams and Slack).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information for internal use.
- Experienced in dealing with ambiguity and delivering under deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and photo editing tools (such as Photoshop or Pixlr).
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence preferred.
- Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs (to support a large disaster response effort), and willingness to work outside standard established business hours (to supervise creative changeovers).
The legal stuff:
Essential Functions/Physical Requirements: Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.
Work Conditions: Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to emergency services relief work. May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system. Because the Red Cross is a disaster response organization, staff may be asked to be on 24-hour call during period of major disaster.

What’s in it for you:
For those candidates located in Colorado, New York or Connecticut, the annual salary range for this position is $80,000- $85,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location.
