Design Project Manager – Brand & Marketing Design

Industry Dive is seeking a Design Project Manager to join our Brand & Marketing Design team. The Design PM will report to the Design Operations Manager, Brand & Marketing Design.

You will join a team of skilled visual designers to triage project requests, balance staff workloads and work with stakeholders to shepherd projects across the finish line. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, with a can-do attitude and commitment to excellent design.

What you can bring to the table

  • 2+ years relevant experience in a project manager role in a creative or design agency environment
  • Self-motivated, self-sufficient, and highly responsive
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills and highly process-oriented
  • Strong track record of successfully managing numerous creative projects and solving complex problems
  • Ability to strategically and diplomatically approach stakeholder negotiation, especially negotiation of deadlines and deliverable expectations
  • Strong attention to detail and thorough, fast reviews of designed collateral
  • Experience working with project management software
  • Familiarity and/or working experience within the production of marketing campaigns, events, printed collateral, presentations, websites, and other marketing materials
  • A plus: Experience managing and/or working with design freelancers
  • A plus: Skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or other design software to make basic edits autonomously (e.g. correct a typo or insert an image)

Responsibilities

  • Shepherd design projects from initial request to finish line – e.g. field requests, assess timelines, review creative briefs and ensures delivery by deadline
  • Create and manage tasks and timelines using project management tools like Jira, Confluence, and Asana
  • Assist with the implementation of new processes
  • Organize and maintain design asset file structure
  • Conduct thorough and fast reviews of designed collateral to ensure each piece adheres to brand guidelines and meets our quality standards
  • Proactively communicate project updates to Design Operations Manager, designers, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate stakeholder reviews and escalate any issues to your manager
  • Troubleshoot issues and remove blockers to keep projects moving forward
  • Manage contractor relationships to deliver design collateral, pay invoices, and proof projects
  • Help onboard new designers and smoothly embed them in workflow

The salary range for this role is $59,000 – $75,000 based on experience.
