A Design Engineer job is currently accepting applications. This is a contract position with our key manufacturing client. In this role, you will be providing technical program direction, mentoring and instruction to other design engineers via review of analysis results, detailed designs, and engineering drawings. To be considered for this role, you will have a B.S. Degree in Engineering along with 5+ years of related experience.
Design Engineer Job Responsibilities:
* Create 3D CAD designs, specifications, drawings and perform tolerance analyses
* Perform structural simulations of new mechanical components and systems
* Support and/or drive continuous improvement
* Present technologies and status of development projects to management and stakeholders
* Making critical decisions that positively impact the course of the organization
* Cross-functional coordination between R&D, plant engineering, automation, alloy development and operations teams.
* Design for manufacturability and assembly and around key program requirements.
Design Engineer Job Requirements:
* B.S. Degree in Engineering
* Working history of component design for manufacturing and assembly
* Detailed component specification experience. Formal GD&T Training preferred
* Experience mentoring junior staff members
* Expertise in 3D Modeling and Drafting. SolidWorks experience preferred
* Working knowledge of mechanical engineering theory including statics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics
* High temperature >1000°C assemblies, processes, components, furnaces, or foundry/smelter equipment is extremely desirable.
* Experience working with R&D teams
* Experience working in small teams & start-up atmosphere
* Experience with running structural and thermal analysis
