About The Role:
Gen3 seeks a talented Database Administrator to play a key role in supporting our client, the IRS, by designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient and scalable database solutions. You will collaborate with software developers and system architects to ensure data integrity, security, and performance while meeting the agency’s critical needs.

What You’ll Need:
- Bachelors degree in a technical discipline and 6 years of related experience.
- Able to obtain and maintain IRS Public Trust. Green card or US Citizenship required.
- Previous experience supporting IRS, USDT, or other federal agencies using USAccess with an active clearance.
What You’ll Do:
- Optimize and Maintain:Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, optimize queries, and implement preventive measures to handle future growth.
- Database Schema:Strong understanding of tables relationships. Understanding of the constraints for both logical and physical types to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Troubleshooting and Optimization:Investigate and resolve database issues, debug performance problems, analyze query plans, and fine-tune parameters for optimal performance.
- Database Management Systems (DBMS):A deep understanding of one or more DBMS platforms is crucial. These platforms include popular systems like Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL.
- Structured Query Language (SQL):Proficiency in SQL is fundamental for a DBA. Youll need to write and optimize complex queries, manage data, and ensure efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
- Security Protocols:Databases often contain sensitive information. Knowledge of security best practices, access controls.
- Documentation and Collaboration:Document database configurations and best practices, work with development teams to understand application needs, and collaborate with stakeholders for data migration and replication.
