Description
Robert Half is searching for a Database Administrator for a Legal client based out of Seattle, Washington. The primary responsibilities of the Database Administrator is for the implementation, configuration, maintenance of mission-critical SQL Server databases.
Additionally, this role will ensure the availability and consistent performance of various applications and work with software developers to design databases both on-premises and in the cloud. This is a long-term contract to full-time position that is 100% remote.
Preference given to candidates located in Seattle, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, Boise, Denver, Madison, New York, San Francisco, Phoenix, San Diego, and Washington D.C.
What you get to do every day
- Create and manage SQL Server databases.
- Install, configure and maintain database servers and processes.
- Monitor the health and performance of database servers.
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, recoverability, and security.
- Analyze, diagnose, and correct performance issues and server faults.
- Design, implement, and maintain T-SQL Scripts for processing data.
- Design, implement, and maintain SSIS packages as needed to move and process data between systems.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
- Assist software engineers with query tuning and schema refinement.
- Perform routine maintenance.
- Support release deployment activities, server updates, and application updates during change-management windows after hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 2+ years as a Database Administrator
- Experience performance tuning and optimizing SQL server
- Strong MS SQL DBA skills – High Availability environment preferred
- Strong SQL Integration skills – SSIS
- Strong SSRS skills
- Some Azure SQL or other cloud experience (including basic experience with PowerShell)
- Nice to have: Experience doing integration work with Workday
- Nice to have: Legal industry experience
