Tuff is a 35-person growth marketing agency that partners closely with startups and scale-ups to help them increase revenue and sales. We specialize in tactics like Media, Performance Creative, CRO, and Data. Our bread and butter is building efficient, holistic marketing strategies and we do this with our team, process, and style.

We’re looking for a Content Marketer to join our team to help develop content for Tuff that educates, celebrates and inspires our clients and audience. This is our first full-time content hire and you’ll have the opportunity to evolve Tuff’s brand voice, develop our content strategy, and create a social presence from the ground up. You’ll work cross-functionally with every team within Tuff to develop content that drives traffic, leads, and future clients through world-class content.

Your work will shape how we talk about Tuff to the outside world with existing customers and prospective ones alike and you will work closely with leadership to craft our content strategy. Your efforts will directly increase awareness of Tuff, our team and service, and will ultimately help to drive growth.

About you:

  • You have experience creating first-class content for demand generation – acquisition and conversion – like SEO-oriented blog posts, guides, or studies
  • You’re curious and creative. You want to know your audience deeply and will use those insights to develop story ideas that educate and entertain them
  • You consistently report on content KPIs and identify opportunities for improvements and new potential wins
  • You are invested in showcasing customer success by writing interesting case studies
  • You enjoy setting up new processes and structure from scratch, creating both long-form and short-form content

Within 1 month, you’ll…

  • Shadow sales on discovery calls to understand our current positioning and audience
  • Take inventory of all the content Tuff has published in the last year to better understand our services and value propositions
  • Review our existing content process (for the Tuff blog ) and identify ways to improve.
  • Research the industry and identify how Tuff is perceived in the current market

Within 3 months, you’ll…

  • Work with leadership to develop, diagnose and optimize a content program strategy that supports objectives for building high-quality leads and pipeline
  • Work with internal experts to collaborate on new topic ideas and publish thought leadership content
  • Create content pieces based on briefs, personas, an understanding of the marketing funnel & buyer journey, and other background material
  • Provide weekly and monthly updates to the internal Tuff team on content planning, execution, and results

Within 6 months, you’ll…

  • Manage the full editorial calendar for Tuff, working closely with our internal CRO and SEO teams on content testing and growth
  • Measure the impact of our content initiatives including the influence on audience growth, customer acquisition, and conversions
  • Oversee the website, ensuring conversion pages are performing at, or above, targets for lead generation

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience writing content, preferably in the growth marketing space and/or fast-growing startup
  • Stellar written communication skills & a natural storyteller
  • Previous experience owning and executing against a content calendar
  • Ability to keep a pulse on the latest trends and a natural curiosity to understand what content is performing best and dig into why
  • Strong sense of empathy for users and desire to understand their goals and pain points
  • You have a learning mindset. You are committed to getting better every day.
  • You have a bias toward action and are both efficient and adaptable.

Starting salary range for this role is $85,000 – 107,000 (we use a compensation formula that adjusts for experience).
