DCG Communications (DCG) is seeking a Communications & Web Content Specialist to provide content development on a fast-paced, high-profile multi-million-dollar federal client account preventing terrorism and targeted violence. The Communications Specialist will be responsible for managing web content development from start to finish, with an emphasis on resource management, SEO, and UX. They will also be responsible for providing communications product updates including but not limited to content revision, communication planning for various lines of effort, and toolkit development. Additionally, they will liaise with the client to understand their needs and adjust content accordingly.
The Specialist will work collaboratively with a team of communications professionals, including project managers, communications specialists, the DCG research practice, and graphic designers to support this mission-driven work. At large, the team supports various communications, marketing, design, and research initiatives for our federal client in its mission to make our country stronger, safer, and more resilient.
Location: At DCG the majority of our team members, including this role are remote. With over 100 employees based in 23 states (and counting!), DCG is committed to hiring talented employees across the United States. The selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Standard Time business hours.
Position Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree and at least five (5) years of relevant professional experience supporting communications and marketing campaigns, to include federal clients, preferably at a public relations or marketing firm/agency
- Experience in developing and executing integrated communications plans through digital and traditional media
- Experience developing and writing in a variety of communication formats and styles, including but not limited to press releases, blogs, presentations, social media, talking points, and fact sheets, with the ability to grasp tone and voice of the audience
- Strong knowledge of SEO and web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to optimize content and monitor website performance.
- Proficient in content management systems (CMS), HTML, and CSS.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and manage multiple deadlines while communicating effectively across internal and external teams
- Proven ability to liaise and develop trust and rapport with clients including listening attentively, asking thoughtful questions to better understand their needs, offering solutions, confirming agreed-upon next steps, and setting timelines in alignment with the needs and requirements of the client

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Security Public Trust clearance
- Possess a high degree of professionalism, both with client and internal team communications and interactions
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with community-based approaches to prevention (e.g., terrorism, public health, violence, etc.)
- Experience with social work, threat assessment, public health, policy analysis, or counterterrorism topics
- DHS public trust clearance
- Experience supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Veteran Affairs, or working in the military and/or veteran ecosystem
