Overview
As a Collibra Ranger at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), you will play a vital role in the implementation and management of our data governance initiatives using Collibra Data Governance Center. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure the effective use of Collibra for managing and governing our data assets, metadata, and related processes. Your expertise in Collibra configuration and administration will help us maintain data integrity, compliance, and transparency in support of our mission to protect market participants and the public from fraud, manipulation, and abusive practices in derivatives and other financial products.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand data governance requirements and objectives within the CFTC
- Design and implement data governance solutions using Collibra Data Governance Center, tailored to meet the specific needs and regulatory requirements of the CFTC
- Configure Collibra workflows, data dictionaries, taxonomies, and data lineage to support data governance policies and standards
- Customize Collibra data models and integrations to align with regulatory reporting requirements and industry standards
- Ingest Metadata from various sources using Collibra Edge
- Knowledge of Collibra Lineage Harvester. Ingesting lineage from various data sources using Edge Lineage Harvester
- Provide training and support to users across the organization on Collibra functionality, data governance best practices, and compliance requirements
- Monitor and maintain the performance, security, and availability of Collibra platforms within the CFTC’s IT environment
- Develop and maintain documentation related to Collibra configurations, processes, and workflows, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory mandates
- Stay informed about Collibra updates, new features, and best practices in data governance, and assess their applicability to the CFTC’s data management initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 15+ years of software development (or commensurate experience)
- Knowledge of working with Collibra Edge
- Experience implementing and configuring Collibra Data Governance Center in a regulatory environment, preferably within the financial services industry
- Strong understanding of data governance concepts, principles, and regulatory requirements, including those relevant to financial regulatory agencies such as the CFTC
- Proficiency in data modeling, metadata management, and data lineage concepts, with a focus on ensuring data quality, accuracy, and reliability
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks and requirements, such as those outlined in the Dodd-Frank Act
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing data governance challenges and opportunities
- Collibra certification(s) and/or experience with other data governance tools and frameworks is preferred
- Experience working in data governance, regulatory compliance, or data management roles within the financial services industry
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, standards, and guidelines, including but not limited to the CFTC regulations and guidelines related to data management and reporting
- Understanding of financial products, markets, and trading practices, particularly in the derivatives markets regulated by the CFTC
