Title: Clinical Data Manager

Location: Remote in US

Through acquisition of the patient-centric real world data platform Ciitizen, we have bolstered our ability to collect, structure, and apply clinico-genomic datasets to advance drug development in rare disorders and oncology. In this role, you will join a new team of motivated clinicians and scientists within the Patient Network & Data org. Through shared expertise and broad cross-functional support, we aim to shape the organization’s success via strategic planning and by establishing Invitae as a data leader! The successful applicant will combine intellectual curiosity and rigorous data standards to drive improvements to our data products. You will work collaboratively with other teams, including: Clinical Operations, Product, Machine Learning, and Engineering.

What you will do:

  • Support design and end-to-end execution of feasibility pilots exploring new therapeutic areas and use cases:
    • Support prioritization of candidate expansion areas based on opportunity, suitability, and feasibility
    • Design pilots that provide meaningful inputs to relevant metrics while balancing efficiency and internal resourcing requirements
    • Collaborate with operations teams and other stakeholders (may include external partners) to ensure pilot aims meet the diverse needs of our data users
    • Communicate effectively with a broad group of internal stakeholders; share insights, outcomes, and recommendations in oral and written forms
  • Provide clinical subject matter expertise to guide development and maintenance of internal data models:
    • Draft requirements for clinical data models that support capture of relevant data across a range of therapeutic areas
    • Collaborate effectively with Clinical Operations, Product, and Engineering, to support implementation, user testing, and user training
  • Support clinical data resources with an eye towards automation:
    • Partner with Clinical Operations to develop and maintain abstraction documentation and ontologies
    • Execute against a clinical data quality roadmap, in collaboration with Clinical Operations
    • Develop and maintain client-facing clinical documentation (i.e. data dictionaries, sample data, slides)

What you bring:

  • Clinical or research postgraduate degree (MS, PhD, MD, DO) or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant clinical/research experience
  • Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver against timelines and execute in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets


  • Clinical or research experience in oncology, neurology, and/or rare disorders
  • Prior experience working with electronic medical records and familiarity with clinical data standards ((SNOMED, FHIR, CDISC, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases

This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
