Senior Engineers at Whitespectre are sharp technical experts who can think like product owners. They’re a driving force within our multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with product managers & designers. They follow our agile 2-week sprint methodology incrementally build and release new functionality, while maintaining close alignment with all stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Work with senior technical stakeholders to design and implement robust backend and frontend solutions.
  • Advocate for code quality and rapid business value, while creating exceptional software and user experiences
  • Drive architecture and implementation decisions, getting hands-on with code to bring features to life, squash bugs, while consistently keeping tech debt in check.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers to develop & grow.
  • Go outside core expertise, strengthen skills with other technologies and learn more by solving problems that AI coding tools don’t immediately solve.
  • Work with CI/CD, AWS, and Github workflows for automated and efficient releases.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills to guide stakeholders through architecture decisions and demonstrate the value of the technical work that’s been completed by the team.

**Job Summary**

With over 50 million books sold, Publishing plays a vital part in FranklinCovey’s business and mission-driven impact on the world. The Director of Publishing is a key member of the publishing team who leads the book development process and ensures that our books are delivered at the highest level of quality.

Your primary responsibilities will be to manage and coordinate multiple concurrent book development projects across divisions and with a variety of different stakeholders, work with agents to develop publisher proposals and contracts, negotiate and manage certain non-English publishing rights, collaborate with product and marketing teams to ensure content consistency and successful book launches, and manage book development budgets along with the overall performance of the Publishing cost center. **Essential Job Functions**

+ _Production Management_

+ Oversee and coordinate the entire manuscript development process, for several manuscripts at a time, working in partnership with FranklinCovey executives and leaders, authors, internal and external development partners, and external publishers as appropriate.

+ Hire and manage external vendors/freelancers as needed to complement internal production resources (writers, designers, etc.)

+ Mange timelines, budgets, and schedules.

+ Work in partnership with our literary agencies and other stakeholders to develop book proposals and contracts with publishers.

+ Act as an internal literary agent and facilitate direct contracts with local publishers for certain non-English global markets.

A Day in the Life

+ Team with business unit Regulatory Affairs Specialists (RAS) and international regulatory staffs to provide regulatory support for changes to existing products. Work with RAS, engineers and technical experts to resolve potential regulatory issues and questions from regulatory agencies.

+ Prepare FDA submissions and CE Mark Technical Files (MDD and MDR) for product changes and/or new products as required to ensure timely approvals for market released products.

+ Provide support to currently-marketed products as necessary. This includes reviewing product changes and documentation for changes requiring government approval.

+ Prepare submissions and reports for FDA and support other international agencies as required by product status. May interact directly with FDA and indirectly with international regulatory agencies on most projects/products at reviewer level. All significant issues will be reviewed with the manager.
