About the Position:
Job Title: Business Operations Lead
Location: Candidate must be located in Canada or the USA. Our office is located in Toronto, ON, Canada, but the role is remote/hybrid/flexible.
Reports to: SVP, BizOps and Corp Dev
Position Overview:
As a Business Operations Lead, you’ll play a critical role in the strategic direction and growth of the company. This position will report directly to the SVP of Business Operations and Corporate Development and will partner closely with the leadership team to ensure we make progress on key strategic initiatives and plays. The Business Operations Lead will work across the entire organization with high visibility, consistently collaborating with leaders from Product, to GTM, to People, and Finance. This role and team is new to the organization so you’ll also have the opportunity to shape the direction of the team and opportunity for impact.
We’re counting on you to:
- Work cross-functionally with go-to-market and product stakeholders to define and implement strategy across all Practice Better products, driving increased value to our users and our business
- Wear many hats as the Practice Better team grows and we create new functions or build out existing functional areas – you may find yourself leading Talent Operations for a quarter or building Product Operations and processes in another quarter.
- Structure complex, ambiguous strategic problems for the Practice Better leadership team, defining clear hypotheses and building business cases and quantitative models that will inform and influence our approach – individually and with teams
- Lead the definition and management of key drivers of business performance, identifying areas of opportunity and incorporating them into your work
- Deeply understand Practice Better customers and the broader competitive market landscape to uncover insights that inform your recommendations
Who you are:
- Highly analytical: Strong analytical skills, including fluency with Microsoft Excel and BI / Product Analytics tools like Looker, Tableau and Amplitude. Knowledge of SQL is strongly preferred but not required.
- Intellectually rigorous: Strong first principles thinker and someone who is able to drive efficient and rigorous analysis, research and insight generation while building hypotheses and an action plan to tackle challenges.
- Able to build great systems, processes and ways of working: Ability to solve complex business problems, create and bring the team along on new ways of working, and build scalable processes.
- Excellent communicator: Excellent communication skills to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations.
- Highly collaborative and strong team player with high empathy: Ability to build trust with empathy while managing cross-functional relationships. Experience working closely with functional leaders to solve challenging business problems and credibly present and debate recommendations with both cross-functional peers and senior leadership is a must.
- Ownership mentality: Strong bias towards action and results-oriented ownership mentality with the ability to exhibit good judgment in ambiguous situations with imperfect data. We’re looking for someone who is a “learn it all” vs. a “know it all” in this role.
