Brand Marketing Specialist

This role is open to remote and can be based anywhere in the U.S. except Montana, New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C., but the ideal candidate will be located in the Twin Cities and work on-site on intermittent basis.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

Responsible for developing and creating marketing campaigns and communications that support new product launches and seasonal product collections for exclusive distributed brands. This role will drive awareness and activation of initiatives focusing primarily on a B2B audience. However, some consumer facing marketing will be required for specific brands for which QBP has the rights to direct-to-consumer sales channels.

Successful candidates for this role are excellent communicators with a penchant for learning about brands and products, and how they fit into a variety of different retail channels – and then translating those learnings into thoughtfully planned campaigns and communications that convey key messages to various audiences. While highly cross-functional, this role reports to the Marketing Communications Manager.

  • Representing assigned exclusive brands, work in collaboration with sales managers, category management teams and the Q marketing team to develop and execute marketing campaign strategies in support of seasonal product line introductions and new product launches. Develop, facilitate, and help execute customer communications, as well as brand and product training for Q sales team, retailers, and retail sales associates.* [30%]
  • Work with sales organization, project management and Q marketing team to create annual go-to-market calendar for assigned partner brands in support of sell-in and sell-thru campaigns, brand education and new account adoption. * [20%]
  • Be the primary liaison between QBP and the exclusive brands marketing leader and team. Prioritize leveraging the visibility, understanding, and adoption of the sales and marketing resources available from the brands to support product launches and promotions to retailers.* [15%]
  • With direction from partner brand marketing teams, understand audiences, segments, and key messages for targeted campaigns in various stages of the consumer journey. Champion the use of this information to inform marketing campaigns and tactics delivered to retailers including co-op marketing programs.* [10%]
  • Determine and create key messages and content to support brand and product campaigns and communication strategies. Traffic the campaigns and messaging to partner brands marketing leaders for alignment and approval.* [10%]
  • Define KPIs for each marketing campaign to ensure it aligns with strategic goals for the brand, and for the category represented by the brand. Work with Qs digital operations team to track, measure and report the success of key campaigns.* [10%]
  • Plan and work with Q sales and events team to execute events that promote the exclusive brands at QBP sponsored events; industry events and consumer facing events, as needed.* [5%]

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelors degree in marketing or communications, or a related field
    • Proven strong writing, editing and communication skills with a desire to improve
    • Knowledge of digital and traditional marketing techniques
    • Demonstrated track record of identifying and solving marketing challenges
    • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and relationship building skills and a proven track record of working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
    • Adept and experienced in how to effectively communicate across multiple channels and mediums
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Minimum of 2 years marketing experience, including execution of B-to-B and/or B-to-C campaigns across multiple channels
    • Marketing experience with consumer lifestyle, outdoor or cycling brand(s)
    • Curious nature and willingness to ask questions
    • Desire to grow professionally
    • Capable of handling multiple tasks and competing priorities under minimal supervision
    • Able to operate effectively amid ambiguity and rapid change.

    • Domestic and International Travel
      • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to nine times a year which includes flying by plane and driving a motor vehicle. Must possess a valid US Passport and drivers license and fulfill the requirements of being a QBP Approved Driver.
