Overview
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will spearhead the development of groundbreaking solutions in verifiable credentials, blockchain, and smart contracts, with a keen focus on adhering to IMS Open Badges (OBS) and W3C Verifiable Credentials (VC) standards. Your role will involve creating, refining, and maintaining advanced applications that utilize blockchain technology to transform digital identity verification, smart contract management, and credentialing systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on blockchain technologies.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Solidity, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or Python.
- Deep understanding of blockchain principles, smart contracts, and consensus algorithms.
- Experience with blockchain platforms like Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of cryptographic principles and security protocols.
- Familiarity with IMS OBS and W3C VC standards and their application in blockchain and verifiable credentials.
- Proven experience in developing and deploying smart contracts and DApps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development:
- Design and implement blockchain solutions with a focus on verifiable credentials and smart contracts, ensuring compliance with IMS OBS and W3C VC standards.
- Develop high-quality, well-documented, and efficient code, adhering to project standards and industry best practices.
- Lead the integration of blockchain technologies with systems that support verifiable credentials and digital badges.
- Continuously evaluate and incorporate emerging blockchain trends and technologies.
- Standards Compliance and Implementation:
- Ensure all solutions are compliant with IMS OBS and W3C VC standards, along with other relevant industry standards.
- Stay updated on changes and advancements in the IMS OBS and W3C VC standards and adjust development strategies accordingly.
- Advocate for standardization and best practices in blockchain and verifiable credentials within the organization.
- Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, build, and deploy new features.
- Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and lead by example in following best practices.
- Provide technical leadership in blockchain, smart contracts, and standards compliance.
- Work with the CTO on strategic initiatives and technology direction.
- Research and Innovation:
- Research and propose innovative blockchain-based solutions for digital identity verification and credential management.
- Prototype new ideas to improve system reliability, performance, and standards compliance.
- Contribute to intellectual property development through patents, publications, or open-source contributions.
- Project Management:
- Manage the full lifecycle of software projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet high-quality standards.
- Manage project risks and align with regulatory compliance in data security and privacy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes.
- Prior work in digital identity verification, decentralized identity, or related fields.
- Contributions to open-source projects, published research, or speaking engagements in the blockchain community.
