Job Description

Vericast is seeking for a motivated ETL Developer IV in Data Engineering team to build big data pipelines, marketing campaign automations, and support existing analytics and reporting data requirements. This role will be responsible for expanding our data infrastructure and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection towards our Data Lake environment.

The ETL Developer will work closely with our analytics and reporting as well as data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure that optimal data delivery architecture is consistent and always available throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.

This position is a perfect fit for someone who really likes to work in an agile team and to contribute their skills for building high quality data-driven marketing products, working collaboratively with other developers and business partners.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop scalable data pipelines and builds out new integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.
  • Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization.
  • Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensure availability and accuracy of production data for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
  • Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
  • Provide post-deployment support and to quickly respond to and resolve unexpected service problems in production.
  • Works closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science/Information Technology or any related field with 4+ years of experience OR
  • Master of Science in Computer Science/Information Technology or any related field (Preferred).

EXPERIENCE

  • 4 + years of experience in Data Engineering or ETL Development role.
  • Strong experience with SQL development, tuning, and debugging; as well as working familiarity with a variety of RDBMS.
  • Experience with PySpark, Python for building solid data pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Lakehouse, Data warehouse etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Iceberg, Hive, S3, Trino preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Talend, Red Point or other ETL technologies.
  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies.
  • Experience with GitLab, CI/CD process.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Solid programming skills in object-oriented/functional scripting languages like Python, PySpark for building data pipelines with experience in testing, logging to ensure quality of code and data observability. (Required)
  • Proficiency in querying with relational databases, query optimization and performance tuning. (Required)
  • Experience in building Data Processing pipelines using ETL tools like Talend, SSIS etc. (Required)
  • Experience with Iceberg, Hive, S3, Trino. (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools to showcase insights using Tableau, matplotlib etc. (Preferred)

Position Overview:

The Sr. Senior Cloud Engineer role will serve as a key member of the Cloud Infrastructure Services team and will be primarily responsible for the compute and storage for the Commercial services US environment.   • Subject matter expert in high availability (HA) deployments of all infrastructure components
  • Ensure infrastructure services fulfill resiliency and disaster recovery requirements
  • Assist in the deployment and support of networking, security and various compute platforms
  • Monitor the performance and availability of deployed infrastructure
  • Ensure regular maintenance of infrastructure components including patch management and end of life planning
  • Write and review infrastructure design documents, build books and run books
  • Ensure compliance with change control processes and adherence to compliance standards and policies.
