Compassion’s Global User Experience Design team is seeking a UX Developer III to help us enable and deliver delightful, unified, unmistakably user-centered digital experiences and tools. As a UX Developer, you’ll help Compassion build and maintain the Compassion Design System and assist teams in leveraging the design system to solve problems across the globe. You’ll also work in close partnership with an enthusiastic group of User Experience Designers who serve Compassion’s supporters and workforce.
What will you do?
- Partner with cross-discipline Experience Design teammates across the globe to envision, build, and iterate on front-end experiences.
- Provide a foundation for Compassion’s global brand expression and UX best practices via the Compassion Design System.
- Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build multi-framework patterns and components for the Compassion Design System.
- Enhance the workforce experience with tools that streamline content creation across Compassion’s digital ecosystem.
- Help mature and evangelize the Compassion Design System with front-end developers and designers across Compassion as they build and improve their own digital experiences.
- Participate in UX research like usability testing, ethnographic studies, and contextual inquiries.
What do you bring?
- A grasp of UX fundamentals and a deep curiosity to grow as a developer and as a UX practitioner
- Strong command of semantic HTML and CSS; SCSS experience preferred
- Intermediate vanilla JavaScript knowledge
- Experience building or aligning digital experiences to designs created in tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
- Comfort working on the command line
- Familiarity with browser dev tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the humility and quiet confidence to apply these skills with brand-new audiences
- A curiosity-driven, learner’s mindset that is excited to find new ways to put human-centered design into practice on every project.
Preferred skills
- Experience connecting to and consuming content from external sources, such as a CMS or digital asset management tool
- Experience building Jamstack applications
- History of working with React, Gatsby, or Next.js
- Involvement in maintaining or contributing to a design system

As a Developer II, you will be responsible for the lifecycle of corporate-wide and customer-specific technology based products. The specialist further works with primarily third-party systems and develops necessary custom entities, ensuring components meet business requirements and are ready for production environments. At this career level, the incumbent generally works independently on moderately complex development projects or as a team member on larger projects. He or she may coach other specialists.

- Conducts application software development services and technical support for existing architecture or new deployments. Gathers requirements and develops specifications to integrate applications. Adheres to approved standards in software development.
- Utilizes simple program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
- Codes, tests, including writing test plans, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software applications. Maintains functionality through code customization and application configuration.
- Implements strategies around existing technology products to ensure these products produce expected results and benefit to customers.
- Provides technical services throughout the lifecycle of customer-specific technology based products. Primarily works with Cloud or Purchased applications.
- Participates on cross-functional project teams as a key resource on data processes, data governance, and application systems.
- May provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the applications development discipline.

This is a remote position that could be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.

This role will launch new programs targeting executive and line of business targets and growth segments. These programs will leverage digital, in person, and hybrid activities. This person will also play a key role in planning including performance analysis and building forward-looking models. The successful person in this role will have deep strategic marketing expertise, a track record of building innovative event and experience programs, and deep analytical skills.
This role will be a flexible role and will work 35 hours per week, specifically around key conferences, and events, where the hours will be more demanding.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Developing, designing, and executing new customer leadership programs, especially for CEOs/General Managers and Marketers. Activities will include partnering with content experts to develop agendas, creating innovative engagement activities, targeted communications, ensuring strong follow-ups and outcomes.
- Research, analyze and prepare strategic recommendations based on data-based decisions that support Events Leadership’s key initiatives to ensure Calix will stay best-in-class.
- Provide end of quarter/year performance analysis; this may be used to communicate broadly across teams at all levels.
- Create in-depth presentations based on key findings that may require quick turnaround.
- Leading execution on high-visibility programs at the annual Connexions conference. This may include supporting executive experiences, establishing new session types or tracks.
Qualifications:
