Associate Director of Engineering

Location: Dallas Texas United States

DUTIES: AT&T Services, Inc. is looking for an Associate Director of Engineering in Dallas, TX (and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home) to be responsible for the design and development of various initiatives for AT&T s customer and employee digital experience across our consumer distribution channels. Manage and lead the software product development life cycle from inception to production launch and post-production support. Design modular and scalable web components, lead large cross-organizational software development projects, and have a technical background in current web and micro-service technologies. Lead the strategic alignment of application development roadmaps to application and enterprise strategies. Provide technical design and architectural leadership to multiple teams and projects to help ensure applications are integrated and adhere to design principles and standards. Drive efforts to architect, design, develop, and implement technology-enabled business and technical information solutions encompassing multiple specializations, platforms and technologies. Research, analyze and recommend new technologies, rationalization opportunities, standard processes, tools and techniques to further the firm s application and enterprise technology architecture strategies. Review business process and technical solution designs to help ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources and integration of multiple systems and technologies. Use Java, Spring, service-oriented architecture and REST. BUILD, design, and maintain cloud-based applications. Test applications using Cucumber, Selenium, Spock, and Junit. Deploy solutions across distributed systems. Alert and monitor the high availability of applications using Splunk. Troubleshoot business and production issues. Oversee two (2) Lead Developers, one (1) Lead QA, and one (1) Sr. QA.

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Mechatronic Engineering or Computer Engineering and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation using Java, Spring, service-oriented architecture and REST; building, designing, and maintaining cloud-based applications; testing applications using Cucumber, Selenium, Spock, and Junit; deploying solutions across distributed systems; alerting and monitoring the high availability of applications using Splunk; and troubleshooting business and production issues.
