Job Description
Attention NJ Applicants: In April 2020, our Company announced plans to consolidate our New Jersey campuses into a single New Jersey headquarters location in Rahway, NJ by 2023. Therefore, the NJ work location for this role will be temporarily based and the exact timing of the departmental move to Rahway, NJ will be communicated at a future date.
Associate Director, Lead UI/UX Designer will work within the Human Health Insights, Analytics and Data area to contribute to development of our advanced data science application platform. We are realizing the vision of a cohesive commercial decision support suite, helping stakeholders make data-driven decisions to optimize delivery of our product to patients. The candidate will lead UI/UX design and the evolution of a consistent design language to apply across our Company’s commercial analytics application suite, ensuring usability and consistency.
The preferred candidate will work closely with business users to understand their needs, conduct listening workshops, propose UX concepts and evaluate responses. The candidate will team up with front end developers to build the solutions and should have experience translating design concepts to technical requirements language and understanding of the capabilities and limitations of implementation technologies. This role will require collaborating with cross-functional teams around the globe, strong communication skills is a must.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead development of master design guide for user-centric commercial analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with frontend engineering team to translate designs to functional applications.
- Conduct workshops to develop user requirements, wireframes, and UI prototypes.
- Apply best practices in UX design to continuously improve upon intuitive user experience for business stakeholders.
- Thought leadership in quantitative UX practices, incorporation to improve designs.
- Lead and grow solutions UX team to continue improvement of our solutions suite.
Education Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of BS (or equivalent) in Human-Computer Interaction, Information Design, Graphic Design, or a related design or behavioral science discipline, or equivalent experience.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Have a portfolio that demonstrates a customer-centered approach to design, care in craft, and well thought through, end-to-end experiences
- 5+ years of product design experience
- 3+ years of shipping product experiences
- Passion for user-centered design
- Strong attention to detail
- Natural entrepreneur
- Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners (Design, Product, Engineering, Marketing)
- Ability to support UX research
- HTML, CSS + JS are a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, with ability to navigate a complex matrix environment and organize/prioritize work efficiently and effectively
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and lead with diverse groups of work colleagues and positively manage ambiguity
- Experience in Pharma and or Biotech Industry is a plus
