GENERAL PURPOSE
Participates in the process of creating product solutions for customer facing tools. Consults with internal and external customers to provide product solutions that successfully meet the needs of the customer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists in developing/reviewing specification information for product applications.
- Assists in the development of product marketing and training materials.
- Creates applications within CET to support various product/application needs.
- Creates CET/CAD drawings in support of product applications and marketing initiatives.
- Cultivates a network of field contacts as an information resource and credibility enhancer.
- Fields customer calls/requests from internal and external audiences for Applications guidance/support.
- Participates in the overall applications/design activities for the workplace category within Product Management.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
- Performs competitor design/application research needs related to product development and other corporate initiatives.
- Provides specification modeling support to better position our products.
- Understands and drives the differentiating design/applications features of Herman Miller and Knoll systems, and other products.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience, Licenses and Certifications, Skills and Abilities
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in interior/architectural/facility design from an accredited program, or relevant academic discipline. Equivalent level of experience considered. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 0-2 years of industry experience with a furniture manufacturer or dealer.
- Experience with CET/furniture specification software and InDesign preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software and tools currently used in the HMI office environment.
- Prior experience with project management.
- Possess interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate a positive customer service.
- Basic understanding of the sales/design process.
- Exhibits ability to work and collaborate with others to develop common solutions.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
