Your Role:
Tetra Tech’s High Performance Building division is currently seeking a full-time Interior Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working on challenging projects of various construction types in a wide range of industry sectors. The successful candidate will work with other Tetra Tech team members in the delivery of company project initiatives related to structural engineering. The ideal candidate enjoys working as a team player in a flexible environment and seeing work followed through during onsite visits. Your contributions will include.
- Perform as a project interior designer on both commercial and federal projects.
- Collaborate with multi-discipline design team to exceed overall project objectives.
- Meet with clients, both internal and external, contractors and other stakeholders to develop and execute project needs and requirements.
- Assist project architecture / interior design team, on all portions of projects through all phases, from concept through completion.
- Develop design and technical details for all aspects of interior design construction documentation, including design narratives, construction drawings, and specifications. Rendering skills, either freehand or with software a plus.
- BIM management plans and lead BIM efforts for projects.
- Assist with construction administration and reviews of submittals and shop drawings.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture.
- 1+ years of experience as a practicing interior designer.
- Understanding of commercial FF&E sources, interior finishes, furniture types and specifications.
- Knowledge of Codes and Regulations including International Building Codes.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Wood. As well as, visualization software including REVIT, Photoshop, InDesign, Lumion, Grasshopper.
- Excellent writing and verbal communications skills.
- A valid driver’s license, and ability to travel to client offices and project sites as required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Federal DoD experience preferred.
- NCDIQ certification is a plus.
- Experience with Bluebeam software.
