About the Role
Our client, a music production team is seeking an expert animator to create a cartoon/anime-style music video for one of their songs. The desired style is similar to Daft Punk’s “Interstella 55555” or reminiscent of the old-school 80s/90s Shonen anime aesthetic. This is a remote freelance opportunity with the potential for future collaborations.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and develop an engaging narrative or visual storyline for the music video that complements the song’s theme and mood.
- Create character designs, backgrounds, and other visual elements that capture the desired anime/cartoon style.
- Animate the characters and scenes using traditional or digital animation techniques, ensuring smooth and fluid movements.
- Incorporate special effects, motion graphics, and visual effects as needed to enhance the overall aesthetic and impact of the animation.
- Collaborate with the music production team to understand their vision and ensure the animation aligns with their creative direction.
- Ensure the animation is synchronized with the music and maintains a consistent pace and rhythm throughout the video.
Requirements
- Expert-level experience in animation, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in anime/cartoon-style animation and character design.
- Proficiency in industry-standard animation software such as Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate, or similar tools.
- Excellent understanding of animation principles, including timing, staging, and character acting.
- Strong visual storytelling skills and the ability to convey emotions and narratives through animation.
- Knowledge of compositing and visual effects techniques to enhance the overall animation.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work that meets the client’s expectations.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with the music production team and receive feedback constructively.
