What You’ll Do
- Lead technical strategy and execution for WordPress projects
- Mentor developers and manage distributed technical teams
- Architect and build custom WordPress sites, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks
- Provide architectural guidance, code reviews, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with UX, design, and project management during planning phases
- Meet directly with clients to clarify requirements and resolve challenges
- Manage workload and ensure projects meet scope, timeline, and quality standards
What You Need
- 8+ years of professional WordPress experience
- Expertise in WordPress architecture, Gutenberg, custom themes, and plugins
- Proficiency with ACF, CPTs, taxonomies, and REST API integration
- Strong JavaScript and React skills (Next.js a plus), plus PHP and SQL
- Familiarity with GitHub, Docker, CLI workflows, and multi-environment deployment
- Excellent communication, documentation, and mentoring skills
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
Nice-to-Haves
- Agency experience in a remote environment
- Familiarity with performance optimization, accessibility, and web standards
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $92,050 – $111,900 (commensurate with experience and location)
