Schedule

  • Remote, U.S. only
  • Temporary, part-time (20 hours per week for ~6 months)
  • Hired through staffing partner HR Options
  • Pay range: $38.46 – $48.08/hour

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch
  • Translate design mockups into responsive, SEO-optimized themes
  • Optimize performance, ensure security, and maintain WordPress core, themes, and plugins
  • Debug issues, ensure cross-browser compatibility, and maintain mobile responsiveness
  • Implement best practices for coding, web security, and SEO
  • Stay current with industry trends and tools

What You Need

  • 3+ years of WordPress development experience
  • Proficiency in PHP, HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript, MySQL
  • Experience with custom post types, taxonomies, ACF, and WordPress REST API
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress theme and plugin development
  • Familiarity with Git, responsive design, SEO, and page speed optimization
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and design sensibility
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently

Preferred

  • Experience with Sass/LESS, React or Vue.js, Webpack/Gulp
  • WordPress Multisite experience
  • Portfolio showcasing custom WordPress projects
  • Contributions to WordPress or open-source projects
  • PERL/ModPERL experience
