The web team partners with UX, visual design, and engineering to ship polished web experiences and maintain Canonical’s product portfolio.

Schedule

  • Fully remote in EMEA time zones (Europe, Middle East, Africa)
  • Collaborative work with designers, UX, and server side developers
  • Travel required up to 2 times per year for team sprints and company events

What You’ll Do
• Build high fidelity sites and web apps using modern HTML, SCSS, React, and TypeScript
• Maintain existing web projects by updating content, adding new pages, and improving components
• Manage incoming update requests and coordinate work across the team when needed
• Ensure new pages ship on spec and align with Canonical’s web style guide
• Protect quality across the portfolio: performance, accessibility, responsive behavior, and polish
• Contribute to Canonical’s living style guide and component system (Vanilla Framework)
• Work closely with UX and visual designers to implement strong user experiences

What You Need
• Proven experience building modern web applications
• Strong HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript fundamentals
• Experience with JavaScript component libraries and TypeScript
• Deep comfort building responsive UI across devices and browsers
• Git experience and good version control habits
• SEO best practices and performance awareness for complex interfaces
• Accessibility minded approach in everything you ship
• Clear communication with designers, UX, and backend developers
• Curiosity and a habit of learning continuously
• Based in EMEA time zones
• Degree or equivalent experience
