What You’ll Do
- Assess risk across the organization and support development of the annual, risk-based internal audit plan
- Perform follow-ups on outstanding audit findings and track progress toward resolution
- Execute audit procedures including issue identification, criteria development, evidence review, and process documentation
- Conduct interviews, review documentation, and create summary memos and workpapers that support findings and conclusions
- Develop and document audit findings and practical recommendations to improve processes and controls
- Address client questions directly and help resolve issues during engagements
- Communicate audit and consulting results through written reports and oral presentations to management
- Flag timeline impacts early and proactively communicate changes that affect audit plan delivery
- Represent internal audit on project teams and in meetings with management and executive leadership
- Pursue ongoing professional development and share learnings with the team
- Handle other audit-related duties as assigned by internal audit leadership
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree (Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred)
- 2+ years of full-time experience in internal audit, external audit, compliance, or risk-related roles
- CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, or CMA obtained or actively in progress
- Strong ability to juggle multiple assignments and deadlines in a changing environment
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Google Workspace
- Working knowledge of IIA Standards and Code of Ethics
- Understanding of risk management, control frameworks, and control techniques
- Professionalism, integrity, and strong relationship-building skills in team settings
- Mortgage industry or financial services regulation experience (highly preferred)
- Data analysis skills (a plus)
