What You’ll Do

  • Design and build API-driven backend services using Elixir (or transferable skills in other backend languages)
  • Own the uptime, reliability, and performance of business-critical systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and scalable architectures
  • Develop and maintain microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, observability, and security best practices
  • Participate in on-call rotations and postmortems to ensure continuous improvement
  • Document designs, systems, and operational procedures for internal and external stakeholders

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of backend development experience with APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures
  • Experience with Elixir and Phoenix framework (or willingness to learn with prior backend expertise)
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, relational/NoSQL databases, caching, and messaging systems
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes in production environments
  • Strong understanding of observability and monitoring (e.g., Datadog)
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

  • Salary range: $118,600 – $148,250
