What You’ll Do
- Design and build API-driven backend services using Elixir (or transferable skills in other backend languages)
- Own the uptime, reliability, and performance of business-critical systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and scalable architectures
- Develop and maintain microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, observability, and security best practices
- Participate in on-call rotations and postmortems to ensure continuous improvement
- Document designs, systems, and operational procedures for internal and external stakeholders
What You Need
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of backend development experience with APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures
- Experience with Elixir and Phoenix framework (or willingness to learn with prior backend expertise)
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, relational/NoSQL databases, caching, and messaging systems
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes in production environments
- Strong understanding of observability and monitoring (e.g., Datadog)
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
Salary & Benefits
- Salary range: $118,600 – $148,250
