This role is for a senior full-stack engineer who can build and support healthcare web apps in the cloud, ship reliably, and keep production healthy. You’ll design features, own releases and incident response, contribute to system design, and mentor other engineers in an Agile environment.

Equip is a fully virtual, evidence-based eating disorder treatment program operating in all 50 states. Patients receive a dedicated care team (therapist, dietitian, physician, plus peer and family support), and Equip partners with most major health insurance plans.

What You’ll Do
- Build new healthcare web applications and support existing apps in the cloud (AWS)
- Design and implement features across the stack (Java microservices + React)
- Support releases, monitor systems, triage and fix production issues
- Write clean, scalable, testable code with strong PR and automated testing practices
- Document current and proposed architectures and designs
- Help plan estimates, scheduling, and technical execution (balance features + tech debt)
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and lead by example
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product partners in an Agile environment
What You Need
- 4-year degree in CS/software engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years software development experience with at least one full-cycle implementation
- Experience with:
- Java
- JavaScript/React
- Relational databases
- AWS
- Experience designing web or mobile apps with microservice backends
- Experience building scalable, high-availability distributed systems
- Strong understanding of REST, OAuth, and common web protocols
- Ability to communicate clearly and coordinate across engineering + product teams
- Ability to write maintainable, extensible, testable code
