This is a senior-level role for an engineer who can build clean, scalable healthcare applications and keep them healthy in production. You’ll design features end to end, ship with strong engineering discipline, and help mentor the team as Equip grows.

Schedule
- Full-time, remote (USA)
- Salary: $127K–$159K (bonus eligible)
- Flexibility to work Eastern/Central time zones
- Travel: once or twice per year for in-person meetings
What You’ll Do
- Build and support cloud-based healthcare web applications, including new feature development and existing platform improvements
- Write clean, scalable code using modern tools and best practices
- Design and implement solutions in AWS and support releases, monitoring, and production issue triage/fixes
- Apply strong engineering standards: automated testing, thorough PR reviews, and fast feedback loops
- Create documentation and proposals for current and proposed architectures and system designs
- Support planning and delivery by estimating work, scheduling development, and balancing tech debt with feature delivery
- Design and deliver microservice-backed web/mobile features with scalable, high-availability architecture
- Coordinate effectively with Engineering and Product partners in an Agile environment
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and lead by example
- Grow deep expertise in your domain area while staying familiar with adjacent domains
- Support additional duties and projects as assigned
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of software development experience, including at least one full-cycle implementation
- Strong experience with:
- Java
- JavaScript/React
- Relational databases
- AWS
- Experience designing and building microservice-based web or mobile applications
- Track record building scalable, performant distributed systems with high availability
- Ability to write clear, maintainable, testable, extensible code
- Strong communication and cross-team coordination skills
- Experience contributing in an Agile environment
- Working knowledge of modern web protocols (REST, OAuth, etc.)
