What You’ll Do
- Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large datasets from multiple sources
- Optimize performance and cost using best practices such as:
- Performance tuning
- Partitioning
- Clustering
- Establish and enforce standards for:
- Data quality
- Data governance
- Security policies for data storage and access
- Develop and optimize data models and schemas for:
- Analytics and reporting
- Machine learning requirements
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to integrate data solutions with:
- BI tools
- Machine learning models
- Create documentation for pipelines, workflows, and processes
- Share best practices and mentor junior data engineers
- Design and architect data infrastructure for analytical workloads
What You Need
- 5+ years of applicable data engineering experience
- Strong Python skills focused on ETL pipelines
- Strong SQL skills, including complex query development
- Familiarity with at least one of the following:
- PySpark
- dbt
- Similar data transformation frameworks
- Experience deploying pipelines in a cloud environment, such as:
- Azure
- AWS
- GCP
- Strong understanding of:
- Data warehousing concepts
- Dimensional modeling
- Building data marts
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across data, analytics, and product teams
- College degree or certification in a related field
Preferred
- Cloud data governance best practices
- BigQuery data design experience
- Experience with the Epic data model
- Experience with healthcare data, including:
- Claims
- Admissions
