Responsibilities
• Own all database objects, including tables, views, and stored procedures
• Design, optimize, and govern datasets used across Power BI reporting
• Build and maintain ERDs, conceptual/logical/physical models, and application diagrams
• Develop scalable star and snowflake schema models
• Manage ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory with strong auditing and reliability
• Partner with analysts, developers, and business teams to define logic and validate KPIs
• Enforce database governance standards, naming conventions, indexing, and version control
• Perform query optimization and performance tuning across large healthcare datasets
• Maintain documentation, data dictionaries, and transformation mapping
• Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and internal security policies
• Participate in required training, compliance programs, and company initiatives
What You Need
• 5+ years as a Data Engineer or DBA
• Expertise in Microsoft Fabric lakehouse (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
• Strong SQL/T-SQL skills, including indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning
• Proficiency in Azure SQL, Synapse, and Azure Data Factory
• Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) and CI/CD pipelines
• Python skills for validation and automation
• Hands-on experience designing star schema and enterprise data models
• Experience working with healthcare data (claims, coding, payer/provider)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and reimbursement standards
• Knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, and healthcare compliance frameworks
• Familiarity with Power BI Embedded and role-level security (RLS)
