What You’ll Do
- Architect, design, and maintain scalable, reusable test automation frameworks using Java (Cucumber required)
- Lead automated testing for RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend systems
- Define automation strategy, test standards, and quality best practices across teams
- Validate data integrity across services, message queues, databases, and third-party integrations
- Partner with architects and senior engineers to influence design with testability and quality in mind
- Perform advanced debugging and root cause analysis using logs, monitoring tools, and system metrics
- Establish and enforce CI/CD quality gates to ensure release readiness
- Mentor junior and mid-level SDETs through guidance and code reviews
- Identify risks, gaps in test coverage, and continuous improvement opportunities
What You Need
- Deep experience building Java-based automation frameworks for backend/API testing
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed backend systems
- Cucumber experience (required)
- Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and integrating automation into pipelines
- Experience validating data across databases, queues, and external integrations
- Strong debugging skills and comfort working with logs, monitoring, and metrics
- Ability to influence system design and advocate for quality early in the SDLC
- Mentorship and leadership skills within QA/SDET teams
