What You’ll Do

  • Own project outcomes end to end: concept, architecture, build, test, deploy
  • Build and scale APIs that power core products
  • Improve architecture, performance, and team efficiency proactively
  • Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and design to ship impactful solutions
  • Mentor teammates and raise the technical bar
  • Participate in on-call and help ensure system reliability
  • Stay active in a remote culture built on clear communication and accountability

What You Need

  • 7+ years backend engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in Clojure, Java, or Kotlin (functional language mindset preferred)
  • Expertise with large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience designing service-oriented, event-driven systems and scalable APIs
  • Hands-on AWS experience, plus Kubernetes, serverless architectures, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong PostgreSQL (or similar relational DB) experience
  • Comfortable making data-driven decisions in ambiguity
  • Strong feedback skills with candor and empathy
  • Ownership mindset, high standards, team-first approach
  • Genuine alignment with Splash’s mission and values

Pay

  • $130,000–$190,000 salary range (based on location, experience, skill)
  • May be eligible for equity
