This is a hands-on platform role for someone who likes keeping the engine running clean while also making it faster, cheaper, and more secure. You’ll own the health and growth of an Azure Databricks data engineering platform while helping support legacy platforms during migration.

What You’ll Do
- Maintain day-to-day operational health of the data platforms, including monitoring, upgrades, and stability management
- Optimize performance and cost by tuning jobs, improving cluster configurations, and identifying savings opportunities
- Build and maintain KPI dashboards for reliability, performance, innovation/enablement, utilization/cost, and data governance
- Enhance security and governance in Databricks, including Unity Catalog for access control, lineage, and compliance
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for escalated issues, perform root cause analysis, and prevent repeat incidents
- Improve tooling and automation, including scripts and CI/CD pipelines for platform deployment and admin efficiency
- Collaborate with internal teams on platform roadmap, best practices, and user experience improvements
What You Need
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps with a focus on cloud data platforms
- Strong experience operating and managing Azure Databricks, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Apache Spark
- Solid Azure knowledge (ADLS, Azure Active Directory, networking concepts)
- Strong skills in Terraform, Python, Spark/PySpark, SQL, and shell scripting
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD automation for platform and data deployments
- Strong operational mindset, documentation skills, and ability to communicate with technical and business stakeholders
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
