  • Annual salary range: $130,000–$190,000 (may vary by location)

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement scalable web apps using Ruby on Rails, React, Node/NestJS, and NextJS
  • Modernize existing applications for better UX, performance, and maintainability
  • Contribute to reusable UI component libraries and ship polished experiences with UX partners
  • Build and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs
  • Contribute to platform capabilities like identity, authentication, APIs, and shared services
  • Improve performance, scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability across systems
  • Contribute to mobile apps using Expo/React Native as needed
  • Evaluate and implement AI-powered features where they create real customer value
  • Partner with Product to assess trade-offs, identify risks, and align solutions to business goals
  • Support deployments through debugging, troubleshooting, and coordination with DevOps/QA
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, grooming, retros)
  • Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through best practices and guidance

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 7+ years building and debugging large-scale, cloud-based applications
  • Strong React experience (reusable components, complex state, performance optimization)
  • Production experience building backend services in Ruby on Rails (or comparable MVC framework)
  • Strong foundation in SOLID principles, design patterns, and scalable architecture
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Experience in Agile/Lean environments (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Comfortable using AI tools to improve workflows, productivity, or product capability
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
