This is a “build fast, scale hard” React Native role. Sleeper wants a senior frontend engineer who can ship features, tighten performance, and keep a massive mobile product feeling snappy for millions of sports-obsessed users.

Sleeper is a fantasy sports and games platform with social at its core. They’ve grown beyond NFL into NBA, LCS, and soccer, and they run Sleeper Picks, a real-money DFS product where users predict player performance. They’re investor-backed, moving fast, and building for scale.

What You’ll Do
⦁ Partner with design to translate user needs into clear technical specs and scalable UI solutions.
⦁ Write clean, maintainable React Native code using TypeScript and modern libraries (React Query, Navigation, Reanimated, etc.).
⦁ Build reusable UI components and maintain a smart component hierarchy that doesn’t turn into spaghetti.
⦁ Implement UI logic using React patterns like hooks, state management, props, and lifecycle methods.
⦁ Integrate frontend components with backend services through REST or GraphQL APIs.
⦁ Troubleshoot and debug complex performance, sockets, and caching issues (the real “senior” work).
⦁ Stay current on mobile best practices and accessibility standards.
What You Need
⦁ Computer Science degree or equivalent real-world experience.
⦁ 5+ years of mobile and/or web development with a strong frontend emphasis.
⦁ Strong JavaScript skills and demonstrated ability to develop systems/algorithms in production environments.
⦁ Proven ownership mindset: you can take a large-scale product area and run it.
⦁ Highly proactive, comfortable building processes from scratch, and willing to challenge assumptions.
⦁ Thrives in ambiguity, likes speed, and can still protect quality under pressure.
