What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain container-based infrastructure that is scalable, redundant, compliant, and reliable
- Deliver end-to-end automation for deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management in AWS
- Partner with engineering teams to maintain secure, reproducible CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues; perform root cause analysis and implement fixes
- Collaborate with developers to ensure services are built for scalability, reliability, and security
- Improve system availability proactively through strong observability and reliability practices
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system tools
- Write custom scripts to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Evaluate performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements with dev partners
- Maintain security controls and support SmithRx’s security program best practices
- Ensure systems and practices meet HIPAA requirements and align with healthcare regulatory expectations
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs across cost, reliability, security, and resource utilization
- Contribute to a collaborative learning culture by exploring new tools and best practices
What You Need
- 5+ years of DevOps experience
- BS (or higher) in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong AWS experience deploying and monitoring web applications
- Experience supporting both product development and operations teams with scalable DevOps practices
- Security-first mindset with experience building secure dev/test environments integrated into CI/CD
- Container infrastructure experience, including Kubernetes
- Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform a plus) plus infrastructure testing strategies
- Strong background in automation, reliability, monitoring, logging, and load balancing
- CI/CD pipeline automation experience (CircleCI, GitHub Actions, similar)
- Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA preferred; GDPR a plus)
- Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL systems (Redis, Redshift, RDS, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.)
- Scripting skills (Shell, Python, Go, Ruby, Helm, Groovy, etc.)
