What You’ll Do
- Learn Pomelo’s business model and patient experience deeply to spot high-value AI product opportunities
- Run exploratory analyses to shape AI features (ex: conversation topic categorization, patient journey segmentation)
- Help develop AI-powered capabilities (content generation, clinical decision support, automated workflows)
- Define metrics and measurement frameworks to evaluate AI-generated content and workflow impact
- Measure AI product performance with experiments and A/B tests, tying results to clinical and business outcomes
What You Need
- 6+ years experience as a data scientist, with real product development experience
- 3+ years working in healthcare or another regulated industry
- Expert proficiency in SQL and Python
- Proven experience prototyping AI products, leveraging LLMs and doing model evaluation
- Strong ability to scope and execute against complex, ambiguous problems across domains
- Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including explaining limits and tradeoffs
Bonus Points
- Building production AI applications (fine-tuning, prompt engineering, model evaluation)
- Healthcare AI, clinical decision support, or medical NLP experience
- Dashboarding and visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Metabase)
- Modern data stack tools (dbt, Airflow, Snowflake)
