What You’ll Do
⦁ Support, maintain, and improve the Flock Safety Android app as usage and complexity grow
⦁ Ship and iterate on features while protecting app stability, performance, and user trust
⦁ Collaborate cross-functionally to understand how teams use the pipeline and align engineering work to business needs
⦁ Navigate an evolving codebase confidently and contribute high-quality architectural input
⦁ Drive solutions with increasing autonomy, bringing options and tradeoffs instead of waiting for direction
⦁ Identify risks across stability, features, and process, and propose improvements proactively
⦁ Contribute to engineering culture by sharing learnings and presenting work during demo day
What You Need
⦁ Multiple years of native Android development experience across multiple apps shipped to the Play Store
⦁ Experience shipping and maintaining an app over a long period (apps at scale or scaling to very large user bases is a plus)
⦁ Strong problem-solving skills with solid architecture instincts
⦁ Curiosity for new tools and a practical mindset for solving real problems
⦁ Strong hands-on experience with:
⦁ Kotlin and Coroutines
⦁ Jetpack Compose
⦁ Retrofit and Push Notifications
⦁ Bonus: Swift or NodeJS experience
⦁ Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS certification as a condition of employment (includes fingerprint-based background check)
