  • Cross-team influence role driving multi-year initiatives and platform quality

What You’ll Do

  • Define and align technical strategy for multi-year, multi-team initiatives tied to company goals
  • Own major architecture decisions, including framework/tooling selection and build-versus-buy calls
  • Design systems for reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability with staged validation plans
  • Run system “health” reviews and raise engineering quality through documentation and testing strategy
  • Drive testing and validation frameworks for high-reliability systems
  • Design platforms with embedded ML capabilities that are production-ready
  • Collaborate with ML engineers on anomaly detection and NLP-related systems to meet SLAs
  • Partner with Directors, PMs, and Design leadership to align technical direction with business objectives
  • Influence product scope and trade-offs to maximize customer value without sacrificing quality
  • Rally teams around a clear technical vision, especially when choices affect the whole org
  • Step in when projects drift off-course and refocus efforts toward meaningful business impact
  • Mentor engineers across levels and set the bar for engineering excellence

What You Need

  • BS (or advanced degree) in CS or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of software engineering experience (or 12+ with an advanced degree)
  • Deep expertise in system architecture: scalability, reliability, maintainability
  • Strong build-versus-buy judgment and framework/tool evaluation chops
  • Track record tackling ambiguous problems with research and validation plans
  • Proven ownership of system quality: testing strategies, documentation, operational rigor
  • Strong influence skills across teams and stakeholder groups
  • Working knowledge of ML concepts, including NLP and anomaly detection in production contexts
  • Excellent communication: you can simplify the complex and build alignment fast
