Maximus delivers technology-enabled services for public-sector and enterprise clients. The AI Accelerator team drives applied AI/ML work across the organization, including production model integration, measurement, automation, and solutioning for new and existing programs.
Schedule
- Full-time, remote (United States)
- Occasional travel to the Washington, DC area for client meetings
- U.S. citizenship required (government contract requirement)

What You’ll Do
- Dive deep into operational data and translate insights into decisions leaders can act on
- Lead advanced analyses (routine + ad hoc) and build measurement tools and dashboards/presentations
- Architect and optimize scalable, secure AI systems, integrating models into production using MLOps best practices
- Develop and deploy AI/ML solutions (including Computer Vision, NLP/LLMs, deep learning, and classical ML)
- Build automation where it improves speed, consistency, or reliability
- Write SQL and script in languages like Python or R to support pipelines, analysis, and model delivery
- Serve as a go-to analytics/AI partner across multiple projects, including capture solutioning for new work
- Create and promote playbooks, best practices, and reusable intellectual capital
- Mentor junior analysts/data scientists and reinforce data-driven decision making across teams
- Stay current on the AI landscape and evaluate what’s production-ready and worth adopting
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 10–12 years of relevant experience (Software Development + AI/ML/Data Science)
- Strong professional programming experience (Python, R, etc.)
- Experience in at least two of the following:
- Computer Vision
- Natural Language Processing / LLMs
- Deep Learning
- Classical Machine Learning
- Experience with:
- API programming
- Linux
- Statistics
- Classical ML methods
- Working effectively as part of a team
- Systems thinking and the ability to manage risk/change in complex environments
- Ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders
